This is my least favorite out of the three JD Robb I had read so far. I am still mesmerized by the Roarke character but not so much with Eve anymore. While I understand why she has put up walls around her, the tough woman image she is constantly projecting is getting a bit tiresome for me as a reader, along with the way she treats Roarke. She treats him like a sex object and enjoys the toys of his that will further an investigation. Other than that, I am not feeling her connection to him even when the author is trying to show one. I really hope that changes because I am still enjoying the series.
